Free Traffic with Social Marketing has its pitfalls

I don't know about you, but I found myself spending way too much time building my farm on Facebook, and scrolling through my tweets. While social networking is all the rage, and for good reason, it is also a productivity trap.

That's one reason I am interested in a new social media course coming out in September.  I've already signed up as an affiliate with plans to promote what is being called the iSocial Academy run by Austin Walsh.  As such I've been able to take a peak inside and I am optimistic that this will help a ton of people learn how to more effectively do free and paid marketing on the social networking sites.

But what I really liked was something Austin refers to as iHit17.  This is his simple formula for spending 17 minutes a day doing all your social networking and not wasting hours on the same.

Now I already know a couple of tricks myself, so I do know its possible to automate some things, but the ability to get by with 17 minutes a day has a lot of appeal to me.

I've written about this launch on another of my blogs, at iSocial Academy.

The link is for affiliates who may be interested is signing up to promote the Academy.  It's scheduled to launch in September, so I will write here again about details when its open.

Generating Free Traffic with Article Marketing

Article marketing give you leverage and that is a critical aspect of generating free traffic. If you have a blog, your own readers and those who happen to find your blog may well take your direction and go to your web page, or other offer.

If instead of just posting a relevant post to your blog, you also reword it slightly to a more third person conversation as opposed to a second person style appropriate to a blog, (ie Me to You Conversation) and post it on the article directories, you can get not just your blog post to generate traffic but have the possibility to get other blog posters and ezine editors to run your post on their blogs.

Then you get their traffic as well as your own, plus and this is a big plus, you can generate backlinks not only from the article directories which usually have pretty good page ranks and the backlinks from any blog or ezine that picks your article up.

If they pick up your article, its probably because they think it is relevant to their readers, which means that the blog or ezine they post on is also seen as relevant in Google's eyes, which in turn means it is more likely to be considered a valuble back link.

Article marketing is a powerful way to build traffic to your sites for free.  Check out this blog dedicated to article marketing. Article Marketing Hints

Generate Free Traffic

Generating free traffic is the only option many starting internet entrepreneurs have at their disposal. The real secret of online success is that many wealthy internet guru's also rely on free traffic generation as well.

There are a number of ways to generate traffic for free. These include article marketing, search engine optimization, and joint venture traffic methods such as giveaways and affiliate marketing.

Since many people want to generate free traffic, there are a lot of teachers out there teaching how to generate free traffic. Some are good, others are rehashing private label rights ebooks with little practical knowledge of their own.

While there are certainly some free traffic secrets to be had, most if what you will find online for free are well known tools and techniques. That said, if you are new to internet marketing, you need to familiarize yourself with these as soon as possible.

While you can pay thousands and tens of thousands for a well structured course on using free traffic methods, the front end cost kind of defeats the "Free" concept. While it remains true that you get what you pay for, I've found that you can get a lot of solid information and coaching if you look around for it.

For example, I recently came across a couple of young Brits who have put together a quick free report that points people in the right direction, and offer a solid coaching program for an extremely low entry price of just a dollar. Now they of course want you to buy into their ongoing program, which I can wholeheartedly recommend, but you don't have to.

Instead if you are new and broke, I recommend you grab their free report, and sign up for the $1 trial and learn what you can as fast as you can. Then you can decide if you want to stick around for the main course, or go elsewhere. I've had friends who have done both. And both have been happy with what they got out of it.

Now those who stuck with it did better by far, which is only to be expected, but not everyone is ready to take action in a meaningful way. So if you are in the early stages and not ready to fully commit, its still worth while to add to your education.

On the other hand, if you are deadly serious about learning how to generate traffic to your blog, website or affiliate offer, check them out and decide if their approach is one you can profit from.

Get their free report called, "Our Little Traffic Secret" When you do, they will offer you a deal on their coaching program for just $1. You don't need to sign up to get the free report, but unless you really are dead broke, you can't afford to pass up the deal.
